Sayonara California!

We’ve had our sights set on relocating to Arizona for nearly the past 6 months now. Once we decided that moving could be a great opportunity for us, we made many trips to Phoenix, Buckeye and other suburbs in Southern Arizona. We looked at dozens of houses, hundreds of jobs and gave ourselves an opportunity to really assess our current situation.

In October of 2017, we started the process of building our first home. From the ground up, we watched as the frame was assembled, stud by stud. By March 2018, it became our home. We loved sharing the experience of buying and building our first home together and in all honesty, these memories are what makes it so hard to start all over again. But it’s for the best!

During our search, Josh was given an incredible and exciting opportunity to work in Arizona that he simply couldn’t refuse. So now, we’re picking everything up and moving out to Avondale, Arizona. Everything is moving so quickly! Perhaps too quickly. I’m not 100% certain that I’ve even processed it yet, but I know that I am so excited for this exciting opportunity.

With the U-Haul packed, we leave tonight!  Josh is taking everything! I’ll pretty much be left with a mattress, one pot, one pan, a set of silverware and a 4-bedroom house all to myself. After we have everything moved into our temporary apartment in Arizona, I will be coming back to California to finish up my last quarter of school and work on selling or renting our house.

Josh starts work on Monday. He is excited and I know that he is going to love it! He has been looking for a job where he is able to apply his skills for a few years now. I’m so proud of him for his determination and dedication to his career. As an engineer, his goal has always been to work with developers, and he is finally getting that opportunity.

Emotionally, it’s going to be hard to be apart! Over the past 3 years, we have only grown closer together. Hopefully by December 14th I will be joining him again, but I will need to find a job before that can happen.

So far we have received nothing but support from everyone, so thank you for that... We need it! We ask that you keep sending us good vibes, best wishes and most of all, prayers! Both of us are leaving everything we know and love — Family, friends and nearly everything we grew up around. We feel that God has called us to make this change and that He will make everything that is meant to be — be.
